Teacher Appreciation 2022

It’s teacher appreciation time! Do you need some fresh ideas? Wondering what teachers really want? We searched and think Your Modern Family has the best ideas! The blogger, Becky, is a mom and teacher, so she definitely knows what teachers want.

Some of our favorite ideas:

Hand written notes- This is at the top of every list. Notes from students are great, but teachers also love to hear from parents. If you are short on time or just generally stumped for ideas, this is the most simple and impactful gift to give.

Time- Volunteering your time is a welcome addition to any classroom. If your work schedule doesn’t allow you to physically be in the classroom, ask your teacher if there are projects you can help with from home. Many times, teachers need help pulling papers out of workbooks, sorting items for science and art projects and countless other mindless tasks that they would be so grateful to get off their plate.

School Supplies- Look around your own home for supplies you may have that can be donated to the classroom for a no cost solution. Amazon or Target cards are always welcome too. We have all heard the stats on how much of teachers’ own money is spent on supplies…

Don’t forget the staff! Administrators, office staff, janitorial staff, lunch room helpers, para educators, librarians, etc, are all key components in keeping our schools running smoothly. A simple way to include all school staff is to provide lunch and/or grad and go snacks for everyone one day during teacher appreciation week. Think about reaching out to a local restaurant for help with this. Many times you are able to get food donated or purchase at cost.

Bottom line, get creative! It’s never too late to thank our educators!
